The senior students of our school took another important step towards their international academic future — they visited the British Council to take the speaking part of the IELTS exam.
The exam topic turned out to be not only interesting but also truly engaging: the students discussed traditional and modern cuisine, compared cultural features, and practised expressing their own opinions confidently in English.
Of course, many of them felt nervous before the exam — IELTS is often the first major international academic challenge for teenagers. And it was especially gratifying to see how relieved and confident the students looked after the interview.
Today, the students are facing the next part of the exam — listening, reading, and writing.
🎓 We wish each of them to stay calm, maintain a confident mindset, and achieve well‑deserved results for their diligent English language studies.
Why does Malta Crown School place great emphasis on IELTS exam preparation?
IELTS preparation is much more than just learning the English language.
Developing academic thinking, the ability to analyse information, argue one’s position, and interact freely in an international environment form the foundation for successful studies at international schools and universities around the world.
At our school, preparation for international exams is built on an individual approach, teacher support, and careful attention to each student. Small class sizes allow teachers to gain a deep understanding of children’s strengths and help them unlock their potential without unnecessary stress.
The annual mandatory IELTS preparation course in the senior grades at Malta Crown gives our students the opportunity to take the exam several times during their time at school. This enables students to gradually improve their scores and approach graduation with a high IELTS band and a confident level of academic English.
