A Well-Deserved Day Off for Our Students!

All news
To the great joy of our students, Monday will be a school-free day—and for a perfectly legitimate reason!

Every year on February 10, Malta celebrates the Feast of St. Paul’s Shipwreck (Il-Festa tan-Nawfraġju ta’ San Pawl). This is an official public holiday in Malta, marking an important historical and religious event.

February is known for its strong winds and powerful sea storms in this region. It was during such a storm in the year 60 AD that the ship carrying St. Paul from Judea to Rome was wrecked off the coast of Malta.

According to legend, only the ship was lost, while all those on board miraculously survived thanks to St. Paul’s prayers. They safely reached the shores of Malta, where they spent the next three months.

During his time on the island, St. Paul performed many miracles—he healed the sick, drove out venomous snakes, spread Christianity among the Maltese, and provided guidance to those in search of meaning.

To this day, St. Paul is honored as the protector and patron of Malta, and his legacy remains deeply cherished by the Maltese people.
