On February 21, students from the middle and high schools went on an excursion to Fort Sant'Angelo, the residence of the Knights of Malta in Malta.
It was here that the main battles of the Great Siege of Malta by the army of Sultan Suleiman took place in 1565. The forces were unequal: seven hundred Knights of Malta and eight thousand Maltese militiamen confronted forty thousand Janissaries. However, Fort Sant'Angelo withstood the months-long siege thanks to the skillful leadership of Grand Master La Valletta. It was a victory for the entire Christian world.
