Day Three of the Conference.
Visit to Esplora Museum: Hands-on Experiments and Design Thinking

In the morning, the conference participants visited Esplora, Malta’s interactive science museum. Here, exhibits can be touched and tested, clearly demonstrating the laws of nature and science.

The students not only explored the exhibition but also attended an interactive lecture on the importance of insect diversity on Earth.

The visit to Esplora became an important experience for participants of the Creativity & Social Impact track.
Using the museum as an example, they saw how the design thinking approach works — a method that teaches how to view problems from the user’s perspective, experiment, and improve solutions.

This approach is exactly what helps the museum engage young people in science.
Today, design thinking lies at the core of creating modern products and services, and the students will certainly apply this method when developing their own projects.
In the afternoon, the students began exploring storytelling.

Today, it is a widely used way of conveying information and ideas through stories. Instead of dry facts and instructions, a narrative is created with characters, a conflict, and a resolution to engage the audience and communicate a key message.

Digital storytelling uses multimedia content to create stories: video, audio, images, animation, infographics, and interactive elements.

Storytelling is used in many different fields:
  • marketing and advertising — to demonstrate a product’s value through real-life situations;
  • education — to make learning more engaging and memorable;
  • public speaking — to capture and hold the audience’s attention;
  • HR and corporate culture — to communicate company values;
  • media and journalism — to emotionally engage readers or viewers.

All of this knowledge will also be applied in the development of team projects within the Creativity & Social Impact track!
