The practical module of the “Steps of Knowledge” conference offered participants three tracks for teamwork in project laboratories.

All teams chose the Creativity & Social Impact track, whose goal is to create socially meaningful content — the practical development of materials that not only gain views but also have a real impact on the audience.

To complete their work, the students needed only a mobile phone, ideas, and teamwork — without any expensive equipment.

And, of course, the theoretical knowledge they gained during the conference:
  • mastering mobile filming techniques;
  • learning the basics of editing;
  • developing storytelling and scriptwriting skills;
  • improving interviewing skills;
  • organizing the filming process;
  • creating discussion-based content;
  • working with social media;
  • strategic content planning.
The first team presented their project as a theatrical performance in video format.
This format allows for sharing ideas in the media space in a creative and engaging way.

The students created an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales with a Maltese twist.

Humor, inventive staging, and a successful combination of theatrical performance and video production delighted the audience and were met with enthusiastic applause.
The second team presented their project in a first-person storytelling format, where the speakers shared their stories without costumes or props — everything was sincere and natural.

The team members shared personal experiences about how they overcame various communication challenges.
Especially touching was the story of a girl who learned to accept her voice and sing in her own way.

Another participant told a story about a girl who befriended snails. This metaphor illustrated how a person can become trapped in loneliness and fear, but will always find a path to freedom.

At the end, the team delivered a clear message — they shared warm wishes and heartfelt notes with everyone present.
The third team created a documentary project that expanded our understanding of the creative process.

The students produced a unique observational film showing how the first team prepared their theatrical performance and how the second team developed their storytelling project.

We were able to see from the outside how creative ideas are born, how teams overcome challenges, and how content is created.

This project impressed the conference participants so much that it inspired the idea of creating a documentary about life at Malta Crown School!
The fourth team presented their project in the format of a TV show and demonstrated how an interview is actually created.

The students clearly showed how challenging it is to formulate questions and how equally difficult it is to answer them sincerely and engagingly.

With humor and creativity, the participants staged an interview with the school’s football star Seva, which received a lively response from the audience.

The TV interview turned out to be dynamic and engaging, highlighting how important communication, improvisation, and teamwork skills are for creating relevant content in today’s media space.
All teams chose the track “Creativity & Social Impact — creating projects that make the world a better place.”
However, each team selected its own unique creative format.

First place was awarded to the team that chose the “Storytelling” format!

The students created engaging stories and presented them brilliantly. Their performance showed how creativity can truly change the world for the better.

Second place went to the team that produced a video film about a theatrical performance.

It was a harmonious blend of theatre and cinema in one piece. The acting was of a high standard, and with humor it explored life in Malta through the lens of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, keeping the audience fully engaged.

Third place was shared by the teams that chose the “TV show” and “Documentary film” formats!
Their creative choice of topics was especially noted.

All team participants received prizes featuring the school’s logo.
