Hiking is an opportunity to take a break from gadgets, test your strength, support friends along the route, and discover the amazing nature of the island together.
This weekend, our students set off to one of the most picturesque corners of Malta — along the route from the ancient temples of Ħaġar Qim to the cozy bay of Għar Lapsi.
During the walk, the children admired the endless azure sea, steep limestone cliffs, quiet bays with crystal clear water, and amazing panoramas where sky and horizon seem to meet.
The special charm of the walk was added by lilac thyme caps, which are especially common on the cliffs. During the flowering period, they create one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of the Maltese summer. When most plants have already faded, it is thyme that becomes one of the main sources of nectar. Thanks to this, famous aromatic thyme honey is produced in Malta.
