Holy Week in Malta

All news
Spring holidays are currently underway at our school, and in Malta this time of the year is filled with a special atmosphere: the island is celebrating Holy Week leading up to the bright holiday of Easter!

It is one of the most important and beautiful periods of the year, when the whole country seems to turn into a living stage of history.

A key feature of Maltese Easter is the costumed processions dedicated to the Passion of Jesus Christ.

Hundreds of local residents take part, wearing historical and biblical costumes, carrying large statues, and walking through the streets of the cities.

These traditions are not just history — they are an essential part of cultural heritage, preserved for centuries and bringing together generations, families, and communities.

For our students, this is a unique opportunity not only to witness the celebration but to experience the living culture of the country where they study.
