May 1 - Hiking day for students

Main news All news
Since 1979, in Malta, as in a number of other countries, May 1st has become a symbol of support for workers’ rights and international labour solidarity.

Traditional rallies, which were previously held in Valletta, are no longer a characteristic feature of the holiday in recent years. Now May 1st is mostly perceived as a day off, which many people use for leisure, family events, or personal matters.

The students of Malta Crown School decided to engage in their favourite pastime — hiking — on this day.

The route turned out to be truly challenging, with elements of rock climbing: they had to climb through a gorge, overcome obstacles, and fully concentrate on every step. But the students managed to do it!

At the end, they were rewarded with a well-deserved rest by the water and a stunning view from the plateau!
