The Science in the City festival

All news
Malta Crown students are participating in the largest scientific and cultural event of the year—the Science in the City festival, organized by the Chamber of Maltese Scientists with the support of Malta's universities, research centers, and cultural institutions.

The festival will conclude on September 26-27 in Valletta, where a host of exciting events for children, teenagers, and adults will showcase science from a new perspective—through engaging workshops, shows, exhibitions, and interactive games.

Throughout September, anyone can join the festival's events, attending lectures, discussions, and debates on various scientific fields. Speakers will include scientists working in archives, DNA research, artificial intelligence, and ancient artifacts, as well as representatives from other fields.

On September 10th, our students attended an interactive workshop and actively participated in a discussion on climate change entitled "Save Isla Sorna," which is facing serious climate challenges.

The workshop aims to bring together scientists and civil society to find solutions, assess the impacts, and take steps to save the island.

Participating in such discussions is extremely beneficial for Malta Crown students, as it provides valuable experience in social activism, which is important for their future adult lives.

Following the workshop, the school held a seminar where students completed tasks similar to those they would encounter on the IELTS exam, using materials from the "Save Isla Sorna" workshop.

The ability to retrieve information, analyze different points of view, and construct well-reasoned arguments are key skills that are extremely useful in life.
